Why We Do Not Accept PCB Copy Requests
As a professional design firm, we are often approached with requests to copy or reverse-engineer existing PCBs. While we understand that clients may be looking for cost-effective or faster solutions, we want to be clear: we do not accept board copying or reverse engineering projects.
Here’s why:
Copying a PCB without the original creator’s consent is often a direct infringement of intellectual property laws. Many boards are protected by copyrights, patents, or trade secrets. Engaging in such work not only exposes our clients to legal risks—it also compromises our own reputation and integrity.
We believe in innovation, originality, and respect for the engineering community. Copying someone else’s design undermines the work of those who invest time and expertise into R&D. As engineers, we hold ourselves to a standard that prioritizes creative problem-solving—not imitation.
Reverse-engineered designs typically lack full documentation, including firmware, design rationale, and testing procedures. This can lead to unpredictable performance, hidden flaws, or long-term reliability issues—especially when a copied board is manufactured in a different environment.
Our mission is to provide tailored, high-quality engineering solutions that meet your exact needs. Rather than duplicating existing hardware, we focus on helping clients design optimized systems with full support, documentation, and future scalability.
Thank you for understanding and supporting responsible engineering.
