Some clients worry that if design fees were added, the declared value would become much higher than the actual value of the samples. This could lead to unnecessary customs duties and VAT, increasing overall costs. Please rest assured, this is not the case—we only declare the true value of the samples.

When filing customs declarations, design fees are considered intangible services and are not required to be included. Customs declarations apply only to physical goods being shipped across borders, while design fees are service charges that are not physically shipped. Therefore, customs authorities only recognize the actual value of the physical items. As a result, we declare only the value of the samples themselves.
