What is a Press-Fit Hole?

Press-fit holes are generally plated through holes with tighter tolerances than standard (typically +/-0.05mm). Press-fit holes are commonly used for connectors with leads that are not soldered but directly pressed into the holes. To ensure a tight fit between the leads and the holes, these tolerances are defined with great precision, much tighter than those of standard holes.

The typical tolerances for press-fit holes depend on the type of connector and are specified by the connector manufacturer.

Therefore, it is crucial to accurately define these tolerances in your PCB data, and ensure that the "Press-fit holes" parameter is checked in the order details.
