AppViewX and Fortanix join forces to simplify machine identity management

Automated machine identity company AppViewX Inc. and Intel Corp.-backed multicloud security firm Fortanix Inc. today announced a new partnership to offer cloud-delivered secure digital identity management and code signing to both their customers.

The collaboration between the two companies sees the AppViewX Digital Trust Platform and Fortanix Data Security Manager combining to offer a cloud-delivered solution. The integrated approach is said to simplify and secure the management of machine identities and the lifecycle of certificates across hybrid multicloud environments while also providing an end-to-end solution for software supply chain security through secure code signing practices that meet the latest industry standards and requirements.

The collaboration seeks to address issues such as organizations struggling to manage a massive increase of machine identities across complex hybrid multicloud environments. The combined offering between AppViewX and Fortanix simplifies and streamlines this process with a fully automated and secure certificate lifecycle and key management solution.

Software supply chain security is also featured in the joint solution, addressing recent mandates from the CA/Browser Forum the require securely storing code signing private keys. AppViewX and Fortanix are offering an end-to-end SaaS solution that simplifies secure code signing and meets CA/Browser Forum requirements.

“The collaboration between AppViewX and Fortanix not only addresses the immediate security needs of enterprises but also ensures a seamless and pure software-as-a-service deployment of machine identity management and secure code signing solutions,” said AppViewX Chief Product Officer Ravishankar Chamarajnagar. “This synergy provides joint customers with a unified, scalable and efficient approach to safeguard their digital assets, significantly enhancing their security posture and operational efficiency in an increasingly complex cyber landscape.”

Fortanix was previously in the news in October when it announced new capabilities for its Data Security Manager that help public and private organizations address growing data sovereignty requirements globally. The release included support for sovereign cloud, key storage in sovereign boundaries, anonymization of private data and centralized control to manage access and enforce consistent policies across hybrid and multicloud environments.

A month before, AppViewX launched a comprehensive automated certificate lifecycle management solution for Kubernetes environments that prevents outages and reduces security vulnerabilities. Called AppViewX KUBE+, the solution provides complete certificate visibility, end-to-end automation and policy control that is said to simplify certificate lifecycle management and secure containerized workloads at scale.
